About the game

A single C++ executable that supports both OpenGL and Vulkan, and a Python server that rules on every hit. Sign up, enter the arena and climb the ranks.

Precise sword combat

Slashes, thrusts, blocks and parries with a 180ms timing window. Simple controls by default, plus a directional mode for advanced players.

Last Squad for 100

25 squads of four, teammate revives and a shrinking arena. The last squad standing wins.

Bots that learn

A search depth of 2 to 5 moves, and learning from real battle results that persists between sessions.

8 worlds

Desert, forest, snow, beach, volcano, autumn, night and swampland. Every server is generated with a fresh layout.

World Workshop

A map editor and a small, validated event language for building your own game modes.

Accounts and ranks

XP, rank, skill and coins. Passwords are stored encrypted, and you stay signed in until you log out.

Install and update

Every install or update is clean: the latest version from GitHub replaces the old one, and the game is stored in a single small file.

  1. Click Install everything and double-click the Install-Motlon.cmd file. This is the only step the browser can't do for you, because a website isn't allowed to run programs on your computer.
  2. From there the file works on its own like an agent: it checks for Python and g++ and installs whatever is missing via winget, installs the launcher with the mpk library and registers the motlon:// link.
  3. A window opens with a progress bar and status. It downloads the latest version of Xervexl from GitHub, builds it, compresses it and creates Xervexl.exe (or an .mpk file if that isn't possible), adds an icon to the Start menu and the desktop, and launches it. After that, the Update & Play buttons on the site open the launcher.

If your browser blocks the cmd file, choose Keep or download it as a zip. Automatic installation of Python and g++ requires winget (included in up-to-date Windows 10 and 11) and Windows approval. Creating an exe requires PyInstaller, which the launcher installs by itself when possible. Local account data is stored separately and is not deleted by updates.
